Alan is next-level. I can't recommend him enough. My fiancee and I went in with a long list of design requests for an engagement ring, and Alan was amazing at guiding us through the whole process. He brainstormed with us, took us along with him for the journey and never shut our ideas down - always playing them out to see if they were possible. There were times where we hit roadblocks, but he was quick to innovate and find new solutions to his craft. Of course, there were times where he said "no", but we knew his reasoning behind it every time. We didn't want our stone to fall out, of course!
All of this came at a reasonable price too! He mentioned that it was significantly more complex that he had initially expected it to be, but still didn't charge extra.

It’s crazy how fast time flies. I’ve worked with Alan and now Jose for nearly 30 years. I purchased my wife’s engagement ring and various other pieces through the years and most recently a diamond tennis bracelet. I would not make a purchase like this with anyone else. I cannot express how wonderful it was working with Alan on an engagement ring. We had gone to see another jeweler prior to Alan and while we had a good experience elsewhere, Alan really is a cut above the competition. He made a confusing process remarkably transparent and has a way of explaining what was (to us) an esoteric industry in clear and concise terms. Not only that, but the options he provided were truly incredible. Again, since we had already shopped around prior to meeting Alan, we were able to compare the stones he showed us to the others we had seen and his were, by and large, the best.
Beyond all of the above, I had a very clear idea of what I wanted in a stone, and while Alan did provide several options in that cut and shape, he also threw in a "wildcard" stone that was not exactly what I asked for, but ended up being the one I fell in love with. He is a true creative in that regard, and we cannot thank him enough for all of his advice and guidance throughout this process.
